Description
The Kings Head Inn is a house that has been converted into an inn. It was originally built in the 16th or 17th century and underwent a mid-19th century re-fronting, with later additions and alterations. The building features red brick with a timber frame on the side and rear, a slate roof, and an internal end stack on the left. It stands three storeys tall and has a corbelled eaves cornice. The front has three windows, with plate-glass sashes on the first floor and one plate-glass sash along with two casements on the second floor. The inn front was completely remodelled in the late 20th century but still retains consoles that support a plain entablature. There is a boarded door to the passageway on the left, which has a rectangular barred overlight. Light square panels are exposed to the right side of the passageway, which features a chamfered beam with straight-cut stops. At the rear, there is a low timber-framed range with square panels and painted brick infill. Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam in the long range, although other ceiling beams have been boxed in.
