Description
The Oxford Arms Inn is a house that has been converted into an inn, originally built in the 17th century with additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure features a timber frame with render and painted brick, topped with a plain tile roof from the 20th century. It has a lobby entry plan and stands two storeys tall, with a two-window range that includes 18th-century 4/8 and late 19th-century 3/6 sash windows set in moulded cases. The central entrance is a six-panel door with a coloured margin-glazed overlight, also in a moulded case, and is flanked by brick additions that have 19th and 20th-century windows beneath a moulded bressumer supported by chamfered brackets. The main frame-post and horizontal member display mouldings, while the left gable is weather-boarded. At the rear, there are 20th-century chimneys and brick wings from the 19th and 20th centuries.
