Description
Nos. 7 and 9 Butter Street are a pair of shops and dwellings dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick and features a brick dentil cornice. It has a slate roof and no visible chimneys. The structure is L-shaped and consists of three storeys with a two-window range. A notable feature is the contemporary double shop front, which includes recessed glazed doors and bay windows with glazing bars, along with narrow panels and a fascia. There is a narrow entrance on the left that leads to a passage at the rear. The entrance and part of No. 7 now form part of the adjoining building, Nos. 3-7. The first and second floors are fitted with sash windows that have gauged brick flat arches. At the rear of No. 7, there is a long two-storey contemporary brick wing. The interior has not been inspected.
