Description
The Holly Bush Hotel is an inn that dates back to the 17th century, with a front range added in the early 19th century. The building is timber framed with brick infill, while the front range is finished in colour washed brick. It features a late 20th-century tile roof and a single brick ridge stack. The hotel is designed in a U-plan and has a street frontage of two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range. The entrance includes a six-panelled door with an overlight and a moulded wood surround. There are 19th and 20th-century canted bay windows with a lean-to roof that extends across the entire facade. The first floor has 16-pane sash windows, and the attic features three hipped dormers with casement windows. At the rear, there is a wing with two adjoining timber framed gabled ranges, where the broader range on the left has a jowled corner post and some brick rebuilding. Behind and above the right gable is another framed gable. Additionally, there is a 19th-century brick wing with attached single-storey outbuildings.
