Description

The Reynolds memorial and railed enclosure, located approximately 12 meters northeast of the chancel of the Church of St Mary, is a pedestal tomb and railed enclosure dating from around 1816. It is made of cast iron and features a rectangular section. The tomb has a moulded plinth and capping, with an urn on the chamfered top. There are inscription panels on the west side for Cornelius Reynolds, who died in 1828, and on the east side for his wife, Elizabeth, who died in 1816. The south side includes a eulogy for Elizabeth, all adorned with nailhead ornament and fluted corner spandrels. The rectangular railed enclosure sits on a brick base and is topped with pointed finials and urn-shaped standards.
