Description
This summerhouse, located approximately 100 meters south-west of The Citadel, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It features a wooden post construction, with some posts still retaining their bark and others having weatherboarded infill on a sandstone plinth. The roof is octagonal, covered with heather and topped with a pointed wooden finial, although much of it has been replaced with reed thatch. The design is octagonal with three open sides at the front. Inside, the posts are adorned with bark to mimic capitals, and the vaulted roof includes wooden 'bosses' and 'ribs'. There is a rustic bench along the back five sides.
