Description
This is a shop, originally part of a 17th-century malting complex, that was refaced in the 18th century. The building is mainly brick with some stonework, and retains significant timbering in its roof structure. It is two storeys high, with a gable facing the street. Part of the front gable is cut by a later building, number 17. A shop front has been inserted into the ground floor, above which is a three-light window with a heavy lintel. A small two-light window is set in the gable. The gable has crow-stepped coping. Internally, the shop features a series of substantial roof trusses spaced close together. These trusses have tie beams below the wall plate, supporting queen posts with collars and bracing to the wall plate.
