Description
A sundial located 4 meters south of the tower of the Church of St Mary in Cleobury Mortimer. This structure is a churchyard cross that has been remodeled to serve as a sundial, dating from the medieval period and the mid-19th century. It is made of ashlar stone and consists of the stump of a medieval cross set in a hexagonal socket stone, with an octagonal sundial positioned on top. Originally, this sundial was located on the south side of the churchyard in the 19th century and was formerly accompanied by three hexagonal steps.
