Description
No. 8 Church Street is a house with an office, dating from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a hipped plain-tiled roof with a central brick ridge stack. It has an L-shaped plan that includes a front range and a 20th-century gabled rear wing.
The exterior consists of three storeys and has a two-window range on the front. The openings have painted stone lintels with raised moulded keyblocks, but these now contain 20th-century windows. To the left, there is a 20th-century door. The right side of the building has openings with similar lintels and also features 20th-century windows. The central doorcase has an open pediment, panelled reveals, and a six-panelled door with raised and fielded panels, topped by a fanlight with radial and festoon glazing bars. The rear gable wing was rebuilt in the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
