Description

The gatepiers located to the southeast of the Assembly Rooms in Cleobury Mortimer are a pair dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed from sandstone ashlar and feature octagonal shafts with chamfered plinths. Each gatepier is topped with a pyramid cap that has a cornice. There are insets for gate rails, although the gates themselves are now missing. Attached to the north gatepier is a 2-meter length of spearhead iron railings. These gatepiers are included for their group value.
