Description

The war memorial outside the Church of St Mary in Cleobury Mortimer is a significant structure dating from around 1920. It is made of ashlar stone with rough-hewn dressing. The memorial features a large Celtic-style cross with a raised cross motif at the top and a tapered shaft. It stands on a simple two-stage plinth, which has inclined sides on the upper stage and a plain lower stage. The names of those commemorated are inscribed on the south face of the lower shaft and on both stages of the plinth.
