Description

The war memorial located in the churchyard of St Mary's Church was built around 1920 and is constructed from ashlar. It is designed in the form of a churchyard preaching cross, featuring an octagonal stepped base that supports a square plinth, which transitions to an octagonal shape at the top. Rising from this plinth is a crucifix, with the cross and Christ sculpted as a single piece along with the octagonal shaft. The names of those who fell in both World Wars are inscribed on the plinth. This intricately detailed memorial is part of a group with the nearby Church of St. Mary.
