Description

The Old Vicarage is a timber-framed and plastered house, partly faced with brick, located on Church Street in Stoke-by-Nayland. It dates from the 16th to 17th century but has been significantly altered and expanded in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building stands two storeys tall and features a large double-gabled block with additional gabled sections. The gables are adorned with 19th-century ornamental bargeboards. Most of the windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars, including some that are three-light. The roofs are tiled, and there is an original chimney stack at the west end of the main block, which has two octagonal shafts with moulded caps and bases.
