Description
No. 34 Lower Broad Street is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and has a 20th-century plain tile roof with a brick stack at the end. The building is three stories high and features a single-window range. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century casement window beneath a segmental arch, with a blocked opening to the left, and similar windows above. The eaves are adorned with brick modillion detailing. The entrance is located to the left and consists of a 20th-century part-glazed panelled door and doorcase, complete with a pediment hood and pilasters. The right side of the building is rendered and has a brick pilaster at the front. At the rear, there is a wing made of rubble and brick, also with a brick end stack. The south front includes a 19th-century tripartite window featuring sashes in the arrangement of 1/1, 2/2, and 1/1, along with a fixed light with glazing bars to the right, all under brick segmental arches. Above, there are two 20th-century casements. This building is included for its group value.
