Description
53 and 54 Lower Broad Street are 18th-century houses located in Ludlow. They feature a roughcast exterior with Welsh slate on the front and plain tiles on the rear, along with a brick end stack and a stack at the rear. The buildings have a two-unit plan and rise to two storeys, displaying a four-window range with mullion windows that have casements. The eaves are adorned with brick modillion. The entrances are centrally located: No. 53 has a 20th-century half-glazed door and a canted bay beneath a plain tile roof, while No. 54 features a plank door with a light, set in a 18th-century or earlier moulded wood case beneath a cambered head. To the right of No. 54, there is a two-light window with a casement, also under a cambered head, and a storey band above.
