Description

The sundial located in St Mary's Churchyard, northeast of the church, dates from the late 17th century and incorporates a medieval cross shaft. It is made of red sandstone and features wrought iron pointers. The sundial is supported by an old three-step base, which holds a deep ogee moulded block and an octagonal cross shaft topped with a moulded cap. Atop the cross shaft is a cube of stone with wrought iron pointers on its four vertical faces. The design is finished with a ball finial on a slender round support.
