Description

Star Cottages are a pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century, located on Chester Road in Acton. They are built of red brick with a tiled roof. Each cottage is single-storey and attic, with one bay. Each has a 5-panel door with an oval glazed upper panel, set within a small, gabled porch with a Tudor arch and barge boards. The ground floor has 3-light flush casement windows with glazing bars; similar 2-light casements are found in gabled half dormers at the first floor level. These dormers have plastered cheeks and apex panels. A full-length rear lean-to extends across the rear of the cottages. There is a single gabled half dormer at the party wall, and a central brick stack.
