Description
This is a threshing barn, now used as stables, located approximately 25 metres south-west of Sidnal Farmhouse. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some alterations over time. The barn features a weatherboarded timber frame and a corrugated iron roof. It has two levels, with eaves hatches on the left, right, and centre; the outer hatches have been converted into windows. There are three doors on the structure. Inside, the framing is visible, with vertical posts and rectangular panels. The barn has a raised threshing floor in the centre, with a loft above. The roof is a staggered single-purlin design, consisting of three bays, and includes raking struts that connect the tie beams to the principal rafters, along with collar and tie beam end trusses.
