Description
This is a threshing barn built in the early 18th century, located approximately 20 meters west of Whitley Farmhouse. The barn features a timber-frame construction with brick infill and some weatherboarding, topped with a tiled roof.
The exterior consists of a complete three-bay box-framed structure. The central threshing floor is accessible through full-height paired doors on the north side, while the south side has paired doors with weatherboarding above. The framing is square with tension braces, and there are ventilation holes shaped like crosses beneath the eaves. The south elevation includes an inserted window, the north elevation has a lean-to outshut, and the east end features a brick gabled range.
Inside, the barn has a flagged threshing floor with low side walls. The roof is supported by queen-strut trusses and double purlins.
