Description
Weavers Cottages are a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. They feature small panels of square timber-framing filled with brick nogging and have plain-tile roofs. The cottages consist of five bays of box framing, with two additional brick extensions on the left side.
The exterior is one storey high with an attic and has a four-window range. The windows are random casements set in segmental heads, and there are four gabled attic dormers with two-light casements. The roof is gabled, and there are two brick outshuts at the rear, along with a 19th-century brick ridge stack.
Inside, the cottages have timber-framed cross-walls and some stop-chamfered beams. The roof structure includes three 17th-century queen strut trusses and one 19th-century king post truss. The southernmost bay of the cottages contains a stable and hayloft.
