Description
The barn at The Old Rectory is a Grade II listed structure located in Preston Bagot. It dates from the 17th century and has undergone some alterations, particularly in the 19th century. The building is timber-framed with brick nogging set on a stone plinth, topped with a plain-tile roof, some of which has been renewed. The barn has an L-shaped plan.
On the exterior, there are small square panels of timber-framing with tension braces. The left section features two stable entrances under elliptical arches and a casement window, while the upper stage has two pitching doors. The right section includes a full-height opening and a brick buttress. The roofs are hipped, and the rear has one inserted 19th-century window with glazing bars.
The interior has not been inspected. This barn forms a group with Church Farm.
