Description
The stables and cart sheds at Preston Bagot Farm are likely from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with the stables being from the 19th century and featuring later infill and alterations. The stables are constructed with square panels of timber-framing, reddish brick nogging, and brick facades laid in Flemish bond, topped with plain-tile roofs. The central cart sheds are flanked by the stables.
On the exterior, the stables have two entrances on each side, featuring plank doors. The left range includes a window opening that retains remnants of a sash window. Most openings are set under elliptical arches. The cart shed is supported by three brick pillars, with the central two openings now infilled. The rear of the cart shed displays small square timber-framing.
The interior has not been inspected. This building forms a group with Preston Bagot Farmhouse and the Threshing Barn, and is included for its group value with them.
