Description
The Thatch is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with later extensions to the right. It features colourwashed cob and coursed limestone rubble walls, topped with steeply pitched, half-hipped thatched roofs and a painted brick stack. The building has a two-unit plan with a single bay to the left, an extension to the right, and another at the rear.
The exterior is single storey throughout, with the main range being higher. The main part of the cottage has a central plank door set in a moulded wood frame, flanked by a two-light metal casement window on either side, both with glazing bars. The left section has a similar single casement window. The right end stack of the main range features a cornice.
Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace with a bressumer beam, and a tie-beam is visible on the partition wall.
