Description
Brook House is a house located on the east side of High Street in Henley-in-Arden. It dates back to the 16th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th century. The building features a timber-frame structure with plastered brick infill, primarily close-studded, and has a gabled roof covered with old tiles. A renewed brick stack is positioned at the front of the ridge. The house has a Wealden plan with unequal jettied bays.
The exterior consists of two storeys and a three-window range. The entrance to the left wing has a four-centred head and a plank door with a light. The windows include casements with iron opening casements. The ground floor features a central canted bay window with a painted brick base and 1:3:1-light casements, along with a two-light window in chamfered reveals on the left end and a larger three-light window on the right end. The first floor has three two-light windows. The centre of the building displays coved eaves and a braced wall plate, while the right return is pebble-dashed. There is a rear lateral stack and a 20th-century rear wing.
The interior has not been inspected but is recorded to have flat joists and concealed roof trusses.
