Description

This'll Dome and Willow Cottage is a house, now divided into two separate dwellings. It dates back to the 17th century, with significant alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. The construction is primarily painted brick in a Flemish bond pattern, incorporating timber-frame elements, and a gabled roof covered in old tiles. A brick chimney stack is located on the rear wing.

The building’s plan is based on two units. The exterior is single-storey plus attic, with a two-window front. A plat band runs along No. 37. Visible wall studs feature on No. 39. A segmental-headed entrance is situated on the left end of No. 37, featuring a 20th-century stable door within a wide frame. The entrance to No. 39 is centrally located, with a 20th-century plank door and overlight in a wide frame. Each house has a bay window to the right of its entrance. The bay window on the right of No. 37 is canted, with iron opening casement windows. The bay window on the right of No. 39 has a tiled roof that continues over the entrance. Each house also has a gabled half-dormer with bargeboards and small-paned glazing over a two-light casement; the dormer on the right of No. 37 has an iron opening casement. The interior has not been inspected.
