Description
The Limes is a house located on High Street in Henley-in-Arden, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick laid in Flemish bond, featuring painted ground and first floors, and has gabled roofs covered with Welsh slate, complete with stone-coped gables and a brick end stack.
The exterior consists of three storeys and a single-window range, with a single-storey lean-to range on the left side. To the right, there is a round-headed entrance that includes a doorcase with fluted pilasters and an open pediment, above which is a fanlight with decorative glazing bars over a six-fielded-panel door. To the left, a bay window features a frieze and cornice above 20th-century glazing. The first and second floors each have a window with a stone sill; the first floor has a stucco wedge lintel with a fluted key block over a 10/10 sash window, while the second floor has a 10/5 sash window. The lean-to range on the left has a window with a brick flat arch above a 3/6 sash, and there is an external stack on the adjacent gable. At the rear, a gabled wing features a modillioned brick cornice, a lateral stack, and a coped gable. The interior has not been inspected.
