Description

This is a late 17th-century barn located approximately 10 metres to the east of the Old Farmhouse. The barn is timber framed with red brick infill and has a graded slate roof. The timber framing consists of square panels, two from the cill to the wall-plate, incorporating short straight tension braces and some later horizontal members. There are V-struts from the cambered collar to the left gable end. Air vents are visible to the left, and there are double doors in the centre and two eaves hatches to the left. The interior features a single-purlin roof in three bays, with raking struts from the tie beams to the principal rafters. Formerly, there was a loft in the right-hand bay.
