Description

This barn, located 30 yards north-west of Old Hall Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame that has infill made of wattle and daub, clay lump, and brick, topped with a pantiled roof. The barn stands at one to two storeys and is weatherboarded on a plinth made of brick and flint. There are 20th-century garage doors on the left side and two subsidiary doors on the right, which are positioned below ventilation panels. The roof is gabled and features bargeboards. Inside, the barn has close studding, with a roof supported by tie beams and collars, principals, and tenoned butt purlins. There is windbracing and the remains of a three-light vertical mullioned window. The interior is partitioned using brick and wattle and daub.
