Description

This is a late 17th-century house located on College Hill in Shrewsbury, with alterations made in later periods. The house is constructed of painted 19th-century brick with some timbering, and has a plain tiled roof. The building is composed of two distinct phases of construction, each being two storeys high. The right-hand section has a single window, and features a 12-pane sash window that cuts through the dentilled eaves band. A 6-panelled, part-glazed door is present, accompanied by a vestigial canopy hood. A coped gable and axial stack are also part of this section. The left-hand section has two 12-pane sash windows with single ring cambered heads on each floor, and gabled dormers in the roof. The gable wall of this section has exposed roof structure, showing the cambered truss and raking struts, along with visible fragments of wall framing.
