Description
Old Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid- to late 20th century. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill on a rubble base and features a plain tiled roof. The building has a T-plan layout, consisting of a main range of three framed bays aligned north-east to south-west, with a single-bay wing at the center of the north-west side. It is a single storey with an attic that includes dormers.
The framing consists of three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with collar and tie-beam trusses that have struts and V-struts above the collar. On the south-east front elevation, the windows are mainly 20th-century casements. There are two three-light windows and a square window on the ground floor, along with two gabled dormers—one featuring a three-light window and the other with two two-light windows. There are also two doorways; the main doorway to the left is half-glazed and has a plank weathering, while the doorway to the right has a ledged and battened door. An external 19th-century brick stack is located to the right of center, and there is a lean-to outshut at the south-west end.
