Description
Golden Bouch is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the late 20th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and replacement walling, topped by a plain tiled roof. The building consists of two framed bays that are aligned roughly north to south. An external rubble chimney with tiled offsets, a brick stack, and a circular rubble bread oven is located at the north-east corner. The house is single storey with an attic.
The framing includes three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, a collar and tie-beam truss with two struts, and a V-strut above the collar at the north end. On the west front elevation, there are three 20th-century square leaded casements on the ground floor. The main entrance, located to the right, features a 20th-century door. There is an attic light at the north end. At the south end, a large 20th-century intersecting brick wing adjoins the original structure, which has a three-light casement on both the ground and attic levels at the west gable end. In the angle between this wing and the original part, there is a 20th-century hipped-roofed timber porch with brick panels.
