Description
Upper Underley is a medieval hall house that was divided in the 16th century and extended in the 18th century. It features a timber frame, stone, and brick construction, though it is almost entirely encased in 18th-century painted brick. The building has a long range of two storeys and an attic, with a central block that has been raised and topped with a hipped tile roof and brick dentil eaves. The windows include a mix of sashes and casements, some of which are modern, along with a panelled door that has a hood. The main block of the house is medieval and likely originally formed a single-storey hall.
