Description
The Knowle is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid to late 20th century. It is timber-framed with rendered infill sitting on a rubble base and features a corrugated iron roof. The building consists of two framed bays aligned in a north-east to south-west direction, with an external rubble chimney that has offsets and a detached brick stack located at the north-east end. It is a single storey with an attic.
The framing includes three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, collar and tie-beam trusses with struts and V-struts above the collar. The south-east front elevation has three ground floor multi-paned 20th-century windows and a ledged and battened door. At the south-west end, there is a lean-to outshut that features a two-light casement window and a ledged and battened door on its south front elevation.
