Description

Rose Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century and restoration carried out in the 1980s. It features a timber frame with wattle-and-daub infill, set on a coursed rubble plinth, and is topped with a corrugated iron roof. The house has two framed bays that are aligned in a north-east to south-west direction, and it includes an external rubble stack with a brick shaft at the southern gable. The north-west front has one storey and displays two 3-light 19th-century casement windows. The entrance is located at the rear. The framing consists of two square panels with straight angle braces at the gable end, and the gable-end truss is supported by two raking struts.
