Description
No. 13 High Street is a shop that has been converted into a house, dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick, featuring moulded brick eaves, and is painted at the rear. It has a slate roof and central brick ridge stacks. The rectangular plan has a front range that runs parallel to the street.
The exterior is three stories high and has a two-window range. The first floor features 6/6 sash windows with enriched corniced heads on brackets, while the second floor has 3/3 sashes with heads that are part of a continuous moulded cornice with brackets. The ground floor has double-fronted moulded wood shop bay windows with glazing bars, along with a central glazed and panelled door that is situated under a corniced canopy. To the left, there is a part-glazed door set in an opening beneath a rendered depressed arch, which has a keyblock below an enriched stuccoed panel adorned with heavily-draped shell ornament. At the rear, there are two-light casements with brick segmental-arch lintels on the lower floors. The interior has not been inspected.
