Description
No. 21 is a shop with a dwelling above, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of painted brick with stone stepped voussoirs and cills, topped by a pantile roof that features a brick stack at the right gable end. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a one-window range. The second floor has a 3/6-pane sash window with a cill band, while the first floor has a 6/6-pane sash window. The façade is enhanced by pilasters with panelled bases on plinths, which support simple panelled corbels flanking the moulded fascia of the 20th-century shop front. The rear of the building also has a one-window range with flat gauged brick arches and 6/6-pane sash windows. To the left of the door, there is a gauged brick elliptical arch leading to a shallow recess, above which is a 6/6-pane sash window over a narrow basement area. The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, there are spearhead railings that front the basement area recess at the rear.
