Description
No. 48 High Street is a late 18th-century building that has been converted from a shop to a house. The exterior features painted render with ashlar-coped parapets at the front and gables, while the rear wall is made of brick. The roof is slate with a central brick ridge stack.
The building is three stories tall and has a two-window range. The first floor has restored 6/6 sash windows, while the second floor features modern uPVC casements. There are two angled modern bay windows and both central and side doors below a wooden cornice. The first-floor windows have vestigial stucco cornices above them. At the rear, there are two 6/6 sash windows set in brick segmental-arched openings, and to the left, there is a projecting gabled rear extension.
The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value with other nearby structures.
