Description

Orchard Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with some later alterations. It features a timber frame with plaster infill and weatherboards, topped with a concrete tile roof and a brick ridge stack. The building has a rectangular east/west plan consisting of about five bays, which includes an attached barn at the west end. It is one storey high with an attic.

On the north elevation, there is one first-floor window that has three diagonal oak mullions. The ground floor has two mid-20th century steel casement windows with two lights, located to the right of a glazed gabled porch. To the left of the porch are two top-hung contemporary windows. The full-height weatherboarded barn to the right features an aluminum garage door. The frame of the cottage has three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. The interior was inaccessible during the re-survey in November 1986.
