Description
The Store House at Staunton on Wye School was built between 1859 and 1860 by architects Fulljames and Waller for the Jarvis Educational Foundation. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and features a clay plain tile roof with stone coping on the gables. The building is designed in the Tudor Gothic style and has a square plan.
The structure is two storeys high with an attic and has asymmetrical elevations. The east front includes a gable on the right and a doorway on the left, which is covered by a canopy. Above the doorway, there is a stack that is corbelled out with diagonally set shafts. The south side has a gable on the left, while the west side features a lateral stack on the right with stone weathered set-offs and a doorway on the left that has a 4-centred arch and an integral overlight. The north side has a gable on the right and a lateral stack on the left.
Notable exterior details include stone mullion-transom windows, a stone string course at the first-floor level, and a plinth with chamfered stone weathering. The interior has not been inspected.
