Description
The Rowles is a cottage that likely dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with some later alterations. It features a timber frame with brick infill and has a Welsh slate roof, along with an external end stack made of sandstone rubble and brick. The building has a rectangular two-bay plan that is aligned east to west and stands two storeys high.
On the south elevation, there are two windows with two-light leaded casements. The ground floor includes a mid-19th century two-light casement on the left side and late 20th century stable glazed doors on the right side. Attached to the left side of the cottage is a timber-framed lean-to. The left gable has an end stack and an attic light. The frame consists of four panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. The interior was inaccessible during the last survey in November 1986.
