Description
Bower Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with some later alterations. It features a timber frame with plaster infill and a concrete tile roof. The building has an extruded end stack and a rear side stack made of sandstone and brick. It consists of three structural bays that are aligned roughly east to west and is one storey high with an attic.
On the north elevation, there is one window, a gabled dormer with a 2-light 20th-century casement, located on the left-hand side. There are also two contemporary 4-pane windows on the left and one on the right. The entrance is found in a lean-to on the south side. Inside, the cottage has chamfered ceiling beams, and the trusses feature queen struts to collars from tie-beams.
