Description

Dinedor Court is a farmhouse, likely dating from the late 17th century, with alterations in the early 19th and early 20th centuries. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with brick and timber-frame elements, and has brick and plaster infill. The roof is covered in Welsh slate, and includes sandstone and brick stacks. The building comprises two parallel ranges aligned north-west to south-east, with a projecting arm extending eastwards from the eastern range. It has a cellar, two storeys, and attics.

The south elevation features two gable fronts. The right-hand gable shows exposed timber framing, with a 3-light steel casement window on the first floor, beneath a 3-light mullioned and transomed window with a cambered hoodmould of the early 20th century. An embattled porch, dating from around 1900, is positioned to the right of this window, and contains a contemporary glazed door. The left-hand gable has 2-light glazing bar sashes to the first floor and a 3-light glazing bar casement on the ground floor; all windows have segmental brick heads. The west elevation has a segmentally headed entry beneath a side stack, leading to the cellar. The north-west corner of the building is battered.

Inside, the principal room behind the south porch features 17th-century oak panelling and oak floorboards. The cellar has brick barrel vaults with a four-centred arch. First-floor rooms have ceiling beams with lamb's tongue chamfer stops. The attics contain oak floorboards. A roof truss in the gable of the eastern range has two collars, the lower supported on three posts from the tie-beam; the upper collar, supported from the lower by two posts, carries V-struts.
