Description

This is a barn located about 35 yards east of The Orchards, likely built in the late 17th century to early 18th century. It features a timber frame with wattle-and-daub and plank infill, brick nogging, and weatherboards, topped with a pantiled roof. The barn has four plus one bays arranged in a west-north-west to east-south-east orientation. The south elevation includes two extensions with catslide roofs on either side of a full-height ledged cart entry. The west gable is weatherboarded above large 20th-century entrance doors. The frame consists of four panels high. Inside, there are raking struts connecting the ties to the principals, and queen-struts that support collars with V-struts.
