Description
This building is an outbuilding, originally a gatehouse, located about 10 metres west of The Manor. It likely dates from the 13th century, was remodeled in the 14th century, altered in the 19th century, and restored in 1972. The structure is made of coursed rubble with dressed quoins and has a tile roof. The west front features two storeys, with a 2-light casement window above a blocked doorway that has a semi-circular head and is chamfered. The blocking includes a fixed window. The east front has a doorway with a two-centred arch, possibly from the 14th century, set within a larger arch. The left-hand jamb and part of the semi-circular arch remain. The north gable has openings at both levels that are filled with rubble, where 19th-century bread ovens were once attached.
