Description

Upper House Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, extended in the mid-19th century and restored in the late 20th century. It is timber-framed with rendered infill, set on a coursed rubble plinth, and has a tile roof extended with brick and slate. The building originally comprised two framed bays aligned east/west, with a later extension to the rear (south). A chimney stack is located on the west gable, constructed of rubble with a brick shaft. The north front is single storey with an attic, lit by two gabled dormers. The ground floor has two 2-light casement windows on the right side. An entrance is located through the right-hand (west) gable, sheltered by a tiled lean-to porch with a half-glazed door set against the chimney stack. The timber framing is arranged in three square panels, with straight angle braces.
