CANON PYON CP - SO 44 NE 5/13 Sun-dial about 80 yards north-north-west of Great House

GV II

Sun-dial. Mid- to late C18. Finely carved limestone with bronze dial and gnomon. Overall height about 3' 6". Square base with chamfered top edges. Large helical baluster with capital enriched by two rows of projecting acanthus leaves. Octagonal capping with egg and dart cornice. Dial is inscribed J WRIGHT and has incised dog. LONDON
