Description
This is a sundial located in front of The Dower House, dating from the mid-18th century and likely built around the same time as the house itself. It is made of ashlar stone and features a square base with a carved console on each side. The frieze is decorated with an egg-and-dart pattern and has notched corners. The top of the sundial has a circular recess that once held the dial plate, which is now missing. The design may have been inspired by Batty Langley's publication, "City and Country Builder's and Workman's Treasury of Designs," from 1739.
