SE 351 and SE 3520 WARMFIELD-CUM-HEATH HEATH COMMON (north side)

6/59 Ha-ha and 2 pairs of gate piers to south-west front of Heath Hall

GV II

Ha-ha and 2 pairs of gate piers at entrance to Heath Hall (q.v.). Mid-late C18, possibly by John Carr the architect of Heath Hall. Hammer-dressed stone retaining wall, ashlar coping and gate piers. Drum-shaped gate piers have circular plinths, banded stonework, Roman Doric friezes decorated with triglyphs and guttae, and cornices surmounted by caps decorated with Greek-key ornament. East end of ha-ha has quadrant curve and connects with ha-ha to front of the Dower House (q.v.).
