Description
The Cottage is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of squared sandstone rubble and brick, with sandstone dressings, and features a Welsh slate roof that has a half-hip on the south side. The building has a roughly square plan and stands two storeys high.
On the east elevation, there are three windows, which are 3-light late 18th century or early 19th century casements. The ground floor windows are similar but have severely cambered dressed sandstone heads. A plat band runs between the floors. The doorway, which is slightly off-centre, features an early 19th century ledged door with a light. The left-hand return displays a dentilled brick eaves cornice.
Inside, there is a single-flight staircase with a wreathed handrail and stick balusters. The northern principal room contains a sandstone arched fireplace.
