CANON PYON CP - SO 44 NE 5/14 Kinford Farmhouse 2.9.66 GV II

Farmhouse. Probably C17 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble and timber-frame with plaster infill. Tiled roofs and sandstone rubble end stacks. H-plan with main front to south-east. Cellar, two storeys and attic. South-east elevation has 1:1:1 windows, with roughly symmetrical projecting gable fronts to left and right, both with closely-set studding to first floors and attics. Left gable has 2-light mid-C20 casement to attic beneath V-struts. First floor and ground floors each have a central glazing bar sash. Ground floor is finely coursed sandstone rubble. Right gable has similar attic casement to that of other gable. First floor has 3-light window with 4-pane sashes. Ground floor has 3-light glazing bar casements set in rendered walling with ashlar lines. Cill beam, above first floor window, and tie are moulded. The tie is supported by curved brackets, with acanthus decoration, rising from corner posts. Centre has glazing bar sash above four-panelled door with transom light. The two gables are linked by a corrugated iron and perspex canopy over the entrance. North-west elevation has two projecting gables and framing with four rectangular panels from cill to wall-plate.
